“Twice the Fun, Half the Distance, Experience North Myrtle Beach”
North Myrtle Beach, SC- The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce (SC) is hitting the road with an interesting PR campaign to promote our city to thousands of potential visitors. Chamber representatives will travel on a tour bus June 16 - 19, 2008 to local markets in North and South Carolina. The tour is called “Twice the Fun, Half the Distance, Experience North Myrtle Beach.”
Marc Jordan, President/CEO stated, “Considering the current conditions of our economy, we feel the need to promote North Myrtle Beach, SC as a short drive destination to our close markets.”
“At each stop we will throw out a little beach sand and register attendees to win a North Myrtle Beach Giveaway, offer free Shag lessons and tell people all about what North Myrtle Beach has to offer! We are not aware of this type of promotion being done for our community before, and believe our custom wrapped bus will attract a lot of attention.”
The purpose of the trip is to draw visitors to North Myrtle Beach who might typically visit other coastal areas. WPDE News Channel 15 will have updated reports nightly, June 16-19, on the progress of the trip. Also, each morning tune to WNMB 900 AM for a live interview with Mr. Jordan and hear up to the minute details regarding the tour.
The bus will stop at nine different locations during the tour; in North Carolina, Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro/High Point, Cabarrus County, and Charlotte; in South Carolina, Rock Hill, Columbia, Camden, and Florence. The bus will return home on Thursday, June 19th and arrive at the Chamber Business After Hours held at Hair on Main Day Spa on Main Street.
