The most visited reef in South Carolina is right off the coast, near North Myrtle Beach.  The Jim Caudle Reef is located just 2 ½ miles off the Little River shoreline.

Supported by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Jim Caudle artificial reef project enhances fishing and aids fish stocks by creating a habitat.

South Carolina has a total of 45 artificial fishing reefs, which bring a huge $83 million to the SC economy each year.  Around 10% of all trips to artificial reefs in SC are taken to the Jim Caudle Reef.
