New Chamber Program Benefits Your Health – “Healthy Living North Myrtle Beach”
The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, CVB is partnering with the American Heart Association in 2017 to work together toward building a healthier North Myrtle Beach. The goal of the partnership is to launch a program where employees of chamber members, and their families, will learn to make healthy choices and lifestyle changes that will in return build a healthier community.
Through the American Heart Association’s “Healthy for Good” initiative, the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, CVB will offer resources and specialized programs provided through the AHA. The yearlong customized program, called “Healthy Living North Myrtle Beach”, will cater specifically to employees and family members of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, CVB members.
Serving as a resource for healthy living, the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, CVB recognizes the benefits of healthy living for all individuals; young and old, working professionals or retired, millennials, or newly graduated and integrating into the workforce. “North Myrtle Beach is an active and healthy community to call home and visitor destination,” said North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, CVB President and CEO, Marc Jordan. “This partnership with the Heart Association will help accelerate the overall well-being of our community now and well into the future, and that’s a pretty exciting opportunity.”
As a business owner, the benefits of creating a healthy work environment with consideration for your employees’ health, are mutually significant. Improving employee morale and increasing performance, lessoning time-off or sick days, and an overall appreciation from employees of your organization’s business values are a few benefits of creating a health program for our members. Above these, however, is the overriding factor that making healthy choices and lifestyle changes will build a healthier community. The chamber is committed to making these choices and changes easily accessible so everyone can benefit.
To assist in this process, the chamber will host monthly AHA office hours. The monthly office hour sessions will serve as a forum to hear presentations on key health topics. All activities and events throughout the month will be focused on the monthly topic. The goal of these sessions is to provide one-on-one contact with the American Heart Association team who can administer and assist in creating a personalized health program for your company. Additionally, the chamber will provide multiple health education opportunities: an Employer Health Toolkit; a comprehensive guide to our customized program, “Healthy Living North Myrtle Beach”, monthly newsletters, and an outline of events.
Thank you for your commitment to the health of your employees, health of your business, and health of our North Myrtle Beach community.
With continued good health,
