Published Thursday, August 12, 2010

North Myrtle Beach, SC- The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors has adopted their 2010-2011 Business Plan.  Available on the chamber’s website, the plan covers each program council’s goals and objectives for the coming year.

“This plan will allow us to raise our expectations and measure our results while being accountable to our members,” said Marc Jordan, President/CEO.

The chamber's volunteer driven business plan is built on a program council structure, focused on six program areas providing members with various opportunities to participate and volunteer.  Any members interested in volunteering in any of these areas may contact Trina Scabery at (843) 281-2662.  The six councils areas are as  follows:

  • Membership Council: Build and retain a membership base representative of the community’s diverse and emerging economy and respond to the information, business, and professional development needs of the membership.
  • Economic Development Council: Lead in the search and development for diverse opportunities to strengthen and enhance sustainable economic development and positive growth for North Myrtle Beach.
  • Public Policy Council: Advocate the business voice in the legislative process, taking action on issues which are pertinent to our chamber members and community and serving as an advocate for a business friendly environment.
  • Marketing/Advertising Council: Increase the number of visitors to North Myrtle Beach by expanding our marketing efforts to targeted regions with great tourism growth potential.
  • Community & Special Events Council: Enhance and strengthen the community’s quality of life and recognition as a vacation and relocation destination by providing and supporting special events and festivals as well as special membership events.
  • Visitor Center Council:  The Visitor Center of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce serves as the "front door" to the community and will work diligently to promote the chamber members, the city of North Myrtle Beach and surrounding area to be recognized as the “Number One” vacation destination.
The Board has charged each council with specific measurable objectives to accomplish their goals.  For a copy of the 2010-2011 Business Plan visit www.NorthMyrtleBeachChamber.com/Members/About the Chamber/Business Plan.
