Obtaining a Marriage License
To
obtain a
marriage license in Horry County,
couples may fill out applications at the Government & Justice Center, 1301
2nd Ave in Conway; phone (843) 915-5370. There are also two satellite
offices — one is in Little River at 107 Hwy 57 North and the phone number is
(843) 915-5372. The second satellite office is located in the South Strand
at 9630 Scipio Lane in Surfside Beach; phone number (843) 915-5371. (Note:
24 hour wait between application & pick-up).
Couples also have the option of
downloading an
application
and filling it out at their convenience.
Applications must be on file at
least 24 hours before a license can be issued.
Individuals under the age of 18 must have certified copies of their birth
certificates, as well as notarized statements of consent from a parent or
legal guardian. Individuals over age 18 may use a driver's license, voter
registration card, birth certificate, or passport to verify age (a Social
Security card or Alien ID card also may be required). The fee is $50 cash
for all county residents, $75 cash for state residents, and $100 cash or
money order for out-of-state residents and all others. For more information,
