North Myrtle Beach Shows Off St. Patrick’s Day Festival to a Regional TV Audience
Bright sunshine and even brighter green greeted the largest crowd in the history of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival on March 12th. Now celebrating its 28th year, the Festival and its iconic parade thrilled thousands of celebrants, who eagerly sampled fun, food and drink during this spring kickoff event.
Attendees cheered 113 parade entries and 150 vendors from early Saturday morning into the evening. Also on hand were media celebrities, public officials and a wide variety of crowd-pleasing music, including three stages and authentic pipe and drum marching bands.
The City of North Myrtle Beach staged a flawless event, creating a safe parade route and festival atmosphere for all ages. The Festival has become such a popular tradition, the North Myrtle Beach CVB sponsored its TV broadcast into four key tourist feeder markets – Columbus, Ohio; Raleigh/Durham, NC; Greensboro/Winston-Salem/Highpoint, NC; and Greeenville/Spartanburg, SC/Asheville, NC, stoking enthusiasm for next year’s event among our loyal vacationers.
Sinclair Broadcasting, parent company of local ABC15 affiliate WPDE, helped make the Festival and its broadcast to out-of-area markets a huge media and event success. In case you missed it, you can find video from the parade right here (you can even see the new Just Coast TV commercial during the breaks!)
